Oranjehotel Junior is a hallway in the NM Oranjehotel, fully open to young people. The corridor is specifically designed for educational groups and individual young visitors aged 8 to 16 (recommended ages).
Locked up in a real cell, the students discover through an interactive program what happened here during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. The educational tour shows the students how people’s freedom came under pressure due to the absence of the rule of law. It challenges them to think about civil rights, freedom, and the impact of a totalitarian regime on society.
The difficulty of the programme is adjusted to the level of the students through the questions they have to answer during the tour.
During Dutch school holidays (The Hague area) and in weekends, Oranjehotel Junior is also open to individual visitors.

During their visit in the Oranjehotel, the students listen to stories from former prisoners that make them think about various themes such as lawlessness and arbitrariness. The visit ends with an interactive photography assignment. The students need a mobile phone for this.
The programme is available in English, German and French.
